Armed Security Officer Job In Bridgman

Perform assigned security duties and maintain a working knowledge and understanding of plant and security procedures, contingency plans and NRC requirements as pertains to armed security duties.
Staff posts indoors and outdoors in all types of weather and conditions. Posts involve driving, walking, running, sitting, or standing for extended periods.

Respond to alarms and assess response team situations and taking compensatory measures when applicable

Perform assignments as required in accordance with the Cook Plant Fire Protection Program to include: continuous fire watches, roving watches and patrols, coverage of welding/burning/grinding operations, surveillance of isolated fire protection systems, and completion of required logs and associated documentation.

Respond to a situation where intruders attempt to penetrate the protected area where one would be expected to place oneself between the attempted intrusion and vital area. Officer may only use that amount of force necessary to counter the amount of force directed against him/her to neutralize the threat, up to and including deadly force in the protection of life or in defense of vital equipment.

Perform security duties related to access control of controlled area, entrance gate duties, protected and vital area access control, personnel search, vehicle search, escort duties, compensatory measures, monitor watch, operability testing of security equipment, and other related security duties, in accordance with applicable procedures.

Perform all duties required of an unarmed security officer.

Maintain up-to-date logs and documentation such as logging personnel requesting access to vital areas.

Responsible for operation, control and condition of all issued equipment and uniforms.

Assist in the testing of security barriers and systems to ensure operability to meet plant and NRC requirements of security related equipment.

Report any irregularities and abnormal conditions.

Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Read and understand all-appropriate reference materials associated with job duties and post procedures.

Remain alert and vigilant for any security, safety or fire protection concerns.

All other duties as assigned.

High School graduate equivalent education and experience. Must meet all requirements of the Cook Nuclear Plant?s Physical Security Plan, Training and Qualification Plan, approved site procedures and State requirements. Must meet the general criteria for security personnel as outlined in 10CFR, Part 73, Appendix B as specified in the Cook Nuclear Plant Security Plan and Training and Qualification Plan.

At least 21 years of age, in accordance with State Security Guard Licensing for Armed Officers and 10 CFR 73 , App B requirements.
