As the Manager for Supply Chain Operations for NSP-WI, you will be responsible for managing all field Supply Chain operations processes and personnel for the assigned geography including Buyers, storerooms, delivery and investment recovery (this position will manage bargaining unit employees). In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing group performance including customer service, productivity, cost containment, prudent use of working capital, accounting integrity, safety and workforce training. You will also develop standardized processes and approaches consistent with overall Logistics and Sourcing strategies and manage the internal customer relationship for the assigned geography and consult with business area personnel to establish operations needs, activities and priorities. Travel will be required throughout our service territory and additional travel as needed. Essential Responsibilities
- Work with direct reports to ensure that consistent procurement, inventory management, warehousing, delivery and investment recovery processes are in place and properly administered in compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Establish and communicate clear performance expectations that are in alignment with stated procedures, policies, control processes and strategy. Monitor performance against expectations.
- Identify, develop, implement and monitor opportunities for process improvement and value creation initiatives.
- Coordinate with Sourcing Managers to ensure compliance with sourcing strategies and procurement guidelines along with managing the vendor contract.
- Develop and facilitate collaborative working relationships with internal customers and the supply base through communications and timely reporting of changes in critical business matters. Provide internal customers and management regular updates on key performance metrics and status of process improvement initiatives.
- Implement and monitor skills development programs to ensure that supply chain operations personnel are developing skills required to effectively execute their responsibilities.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Purchasing or Logistics (6 years related experience may substitute for the degree)
Experience - 8 years of supply chain experience or field operations experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Extensive demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in all elements of supply chain including purchasing, planning and forecasting, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing or field operations experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Project management, leadership and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience - Knowledge of gas and/or electric utility materials
