Business Unit Overview Exelon's Power Team, the company's wholesale power marketing and commodity trading organization, actively trades power and fuel in order to optimize the profitability of a growing portfolio of assets and load obligations as well as the implementation of risk management objectives. Our portfolio includes the largest fleet of nuclear generation in the U.S., plus extensive coal, oil, natural gas, hydroelectric and wind generation assets. The power marketing & trading organization (Power Team) is responsible for optimize the value of Exelon Generation's portfolio. Location: Kennett Square, PA Job Description The Pricing Analyst plays an integral role within the Structuring and Portfolio Management group. The Analyst will implement a variety of analytical methods to provide valuations for structured power and fuels transactions (load-following products, power/fuel options), generation asset purchases and sales, tolling arrangements, and fuel storage and commodity supply contracts in regions throughout the United States. A strong understanding of traditional financial valuation and modeling techniques (discounted cash flow analysis, financial statement analysis) along with a strong understanding of option theory, simulation modeling, and statistical methods is essential. The Pricing Analyst must also effectively communicate recommendations based on complex analysis to a variety of audiences, frequently to senior management. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1 Valuation and structuring of complex power and fuel transactions. 2 Valuation of internal and external assets within the energy industry. 3 Application of simulation modeling and statistical analysis to quantify uncertainty and risk. 4 Utilization of financial valuation and modeling methodologies (DCF, financial statement analysis, etc). 5 Accountable for effectively communicating recommendations based on complex analyses to a variety of audiences including senior management. 6 The ability to effectively work across functional areas within the Analytical community, as well as Origination, Portfolio Management, and Commercial Transactions. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: 1) Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics, science, engineering or equivalent experience. 2) One to three years experience in a quantitative role 3) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written. 4) Ability to apply strong analytical and valuation skills to price complex products Preferred: 1) Energy industry experience 2) MBA 3) CFA POSITION SCOPE Reports to the Director of Pricing | |
