Business Unit Overview Business Services provides Exelon and its subsidiaries with financial, human resource, legal, information technology, supply management and corporate governance services. Job Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Provide project execution, coordination, and technical expertise to support delivery of IT solutions related to the ComEd Fiber Project. Partner with business clients and engineering and construction vendors to support the construction and deployment of fiber optic infrastructure throughout the ComEd territory in accordance with established strategy and architecture.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Provide project execution, coordination, and technical expertise for construction and deployment of fiber optic infrastructure.
-Maintain relationships with business, external vendors, and various IT partners to assist with planning and coordination of requirements to drive solutions the identified solutions.
-Engage with business clients, engineering and construction vendors, IT Architecture & Engineering, and other IT shared service groups in support of the deployment of fiber optic infrastructure throughout the ComEd territory.
-Apply knowledge of key business unit processes, systems, and initiatives. Build knowledge of industry and IT trends. Contribute to fiber strategy development.
-Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function
-Provide performance evaluations, career development feedback, and recognition as required.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor¿s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 3-5 years experience in fiber implementation and related communication technologies, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Exposure to working in a substation environment including some understanding of specific requirements and standards for SCADA and system protection communications.
Excellent communications skills, able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).
Understanding of change management principles associated with new technology implementations.
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of project management principles.
Preferred: PMP
