Fuel Manager- Northampton Job In NORTHAMPTON Pennsylvania

NAES Corporation, a leading provider of 3rd party O&M services to the Independent Power Industry, is currently recruiting for the following position:

Northampton is a 112 MW anthracite waste coal-fired electric facility in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

Job Description:

The Fuel Manager (FM) assists in procurement of various fuels required for operation of the plant.  The FM is responsible, under the direction of the Plant Manager and in coordination with the Operations Supervisor, to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of fuel to the plant during all periods of plant operation. 

• Determine materials required to be purchased and initiate material requisitions accordingly.
• Identify sources of supplies and evaluate vendors' capabilities of meeting purchase requirements.
• Negotiate with vendors regarding payments, delivery schedules, warranties, and other purchase contract terms.
• Determine availability of materials on-site and ensure correct quantities are staged when needed.
• May recommend material substitutions, expedite orders, and reconcile discrepancies in shipments and/or invoices with vendors and contractors.
• Issue request for bids and evaluate vendors' proposals.
• Prepare and compile necessary reports and maintain records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher degree in related field with 5 years procurement experience or 5 years experience as a Fuel Manager with emphasis on green wood and urban waste.
• Demonstration of outstanding management, human relation and technical skills.
• Good knowledge of computer systems and applications - proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Must have valid driver's license.
