Job Description

Responsible for planning, budgeting, coordinating, and managing the Accounting and Materials functions in a safe, efficient and economical manner. Responsible for developing two-way communications with plant employees and the general public including suppliers, contractors, public agencies, and governmental/regulatory agencies.
Provide overall administration and management of the plant's accounting and office function.

Track, analyze, resolve issues, report and assist in the control of expenditures, both O&M and Capital.

Plan, schedule and supervise plant accounting activities including budgeting, fuel accounting, payroll, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), capital work order system, regulatory reporting and record keeping.

Participate in audits of plant accounting and materials activities and respond to Sarbanes Oxley and other audit inquiries.

Assist Supply Chain in the asset recovery function at assigned location. Coordinate with AEP, plant, and RSO purchasing and supply chain services to develop and implement material control procedures and reports.

Support the System Safety Process.   

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Education:    B.S. degree in business management, accounting or   equivalent education and/or experience.



Training should include courses in Accounting and Business Management, leadership, supervision, change management, team skills, problem solving & decision making, process improvement, safety, business skills and other relevant courses.



Experience:      Minimum of six years' experience including work in accounting, budgeting and/or   and material management.   Experience should include some administration of human resources, Sarbanes Oxley audit requirements and business matters.   Experience should include providing work guidance/direction to nonexempt and/or exempt employees.
