Power Equipment Mech 3Rd Class - Turbines Job In South Charleston West Virginia

Perform semi-skilled turbine rotor and diaphragm repair. Coordinate the work of others in the inspection, repairing, and rebuilding of power equipment sent to the Central Machine Shop and perform the same at other places of temporary assignment. Perform duties such as:

Perform "blast cleaning" operation on required parts.

Prepare equipment for shipping and storing as directed.

Heat turbine buckets for peening operation, as required.

Learn the use and care of all tools used to perform work in turbine rotor and diaphragm repair.

Perform work in other qualified areas, (i.e., machinist, welder, motor winder, NDE, etc.), as fill in when not assigned to work in power equipment section.

Perform maintenance work on the Central Machine Shop building and equipment.

Assist, as directed, employees of equal or higher classification in carrying out work assignments.

Perform all work in accordance with safety regulations and acceptable shop practices.

Report irregularities or abnormal conditions.

Carry out assignments in training for fire fighting and first aid. Carry out assignments in performing fire fighting.

Take notes and keep records as directed.

Perform similar or less skilled work, as assigned.

Through a combination of education and/or ability must have sufficient knowledge and skill to perform the duties and/or responsibilities listed above as well as the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skill to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of the key job in the family.

Satisfactorily perform all of the demonstrations of the job.
