|
The Boiler Feed Pump Technician reports to CMS Machine Shop Production Supervision and is responsible for leading the repairs of BFP assemblies at Central Machine Shop and the installation of BFP assemblies a the customer’s location.
The position is also responsible for providing training for other employees and coordinating repair activities within the work group, team, or department.
Principal Accountabilities: 1. Plans work and develops work plans of others to complete non-routine work within time and costs constraints.
2. Participates as a working member while leading repair work to complete BFP disassembly, repair and reassembly.
3. Works independently in resolving complex problems.
4. Reviews trends of material and equipment performances and initiates necessary corrective action.
5. Provides advanced training to other employees from employee’s area of expertise.
6. Participates in planning meetings covering engineering, scheduling, operation, and maintenance of equipment and facilities with appropriate AEP personnel, contractors, and suppliers.
7. Maintain records and write reports of repair work performed under employee’s direction.
8. Actively seeks opportunities to improve processes and increase job knowledge and technical skills.
9. Develop high quality relationships and partnerships with customers, engineering and third party manufacturers and shops. Ensuring cooperation and coordination of work activities with internal and external customers.
10. Ensure all Shop activities are in compliance with the company’s quality assurance and quality control programs and policies. Monitor compliance of the QA/QC program and recommend improvements.
11. Ensure all Shop activities are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Extensive travel involved. Minimum Requirements Two year degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent in job knowledge and experience related to pump repairs and machining operations.
Two years of progressive on the job experience in technical and lead direction of BFP installation and repairs.
