The Senior Engineer II applies an intensive and diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields; makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods; and represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of his/her field and related sciences and disciplines.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide engineering support for the operation and maintenance of Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) at coal fired power plants
• Process optimization, process troubleshooting and inspections during plant outages
• Determine maintenance scope, equipment remaining life estimates and catalyst management plan
• Training of site Operations and Maintenance staffs related to AQCS
• Corporate representative at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and other AQCS industry groups
• Must show proficient knowledge of the following (practical experience preferred): wet flue gas desulfurization systems, dry flue gas desulfurization systems/spray dryer absorbers, electrostatic precipitators, pulse jet fabric filters, selective catalytic reduction systems and selective non-catalytic reduction systems

The successful candidate will support four plant sites with 12 coal fired units. Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations is desirable. Travel required, approximately 30-50% within Michigan's lower peninsula. Position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education and experience (Gen Engineer I - Sr Engineer II). Position location is negotiable within the following areas – Grand Haven/Holland, Bay City/Midland, Jackson.

Position Requirements:

• 10 or more years applied exempt engineering working experience
• PE designation is preferred
