Job Description

In Zurich, ABB Switzerland develops and manufactures gas-insulated switchgears (GIS) for the transmission of electrical energy. Since our products will be used in critical nodes, their quality and availability are core factors for our success. We develop both primary components and drive systems for switchgears for our GIS plants. To strengthen our project team, we are looking for a committed Mechanical Engineer (m/f).

Your tasks: prepare system studies for high-voltage switchgears • perform electrical, mechanical, kinematical, and thermal calculations • lead development projects • plan and supervise development and type tests in own and external laboratories • cooperate with universities and research centers • provide support to the departments engineering, manufacturing, and sales in technical matters

The requirements: degree in power engineering • professional experience in research and development in the field of high-voltage engineering • experience in project management • very good command of German and English • quality- and team-oriented personality with pronounced problem-solving skills
