Job Description

The Information Technology department executes a variety of international projects involving multidisciplinary teams of experts in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, power systems engineering, and theoretical physics. Support our “Utility Solutions” group as Power Systems Expert (m/f) with a working contract of one year duration and possibilities of extension. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects in an open research and development environment. A young, multinational team is looking forward to welcoming you as their newest member! Your tasks: perform analyses and problem solving at the interface of power systems, IT, and communication technologies • assume mathematical modeling of automation solutions for energy networks • design, develop, and implement IT solutions for power transmission and distribution networks • execute research projects • participate in interdisciplinary, international teams • collaborate with ABB business units and leading universities worldwide The requirements: excellent academic track record and Master or PhD • expertise in at least one of the following areas: power systems operation and planning, power systems economics • strong mathematics background • high level of motivation to work on industrial applications • fluency in English, written and spoken; German skills an advantage • team player with hands-on mentality If you have further questions regarding this temporary position, please contact Dr. Cherry Yuen, e-mail: cherry.yuen@ch.abb.com, phone: +41 58 586 81 15.
