Control Room Operator Job In Kiowa

Tenaska Operations, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Control Room Operator (CRO) at the Tenaska Kiamichi Generating Station near Kiowa, Oklahoma.

The CRO adjusts equipment through the plant control system to maintain proper performance in support of plant electric dispatch orders and requests.  The CRO employs knowledge of procedures and directions regarding plant operation with a minimum of supervision.  He/she acts with authority to control the operation of the plant in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times.

Potential candidates must have a minimum of:

• High school diploma
• Experience as an outside operator and control room operator in an industrial plant or generating station.
• Knowledge and experience with water chemistry, chemical handling, gas/steam turbine generator operation, electric power transmission, steam generation, industrial safety, and environmental compliance (air, water, waste).

A college degree, knowledge of the electric generation industry, and supervisory experience is desirable.

The position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with nights, weekends, and holiday work as required by schedules, work load, and plant conditions.  “On call” status is periodically required.  All employees participate in a fitness for duty program.
