Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Assist lead instructors in development, maintenance and conduct of training and qualification activities that ensure operators and Shift Technical Advisor qualifications meet regulatory and accreditation requirements and management expectations to support the operation of the assigned site.  Assist in implementation and instruction of operator, shift technical advisor, simulator training programs, and clearance procedure training in assigned functional areas to support nuclear plant operation. Participate and successfully complete developmental assignments, in areas such as but not limited to SRO Certification and Instructor Certification, which will support development of skills required of the lead instructor position.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Assist  in analysis of technical material and change actions (operating experience, modifications, procedure changes, etc.), and prepare/update content evaluations, task lists/matrices to provide technically adequate and effective training materials for Operations Training Programs (including Shift Operations Supervisor Training) by the Training System Development (TSD) process to provide training sufficient for site personnel to perform their job functions, and to satisfy programmatic requirements.
2.Assist in conduct training in a manner to ensure plant goals, objectives, and standards are met; assigned training facilities and training aids promote a professional learning environment, and training delivery is consistent, professional, and cost-effective.
3.Prepare trainees with respect to performance, recommend appropriate remedial actions, maintain examination integrity, and apply high performance standards during training and performance evaluations to certify only those personnel who have demonstrated the ability to safely and efficiently operate and stand for NRC license or re-qualification examination.
4.Prepare, review for accuracy and completeness, and forward for retention per procedures required training records to attest to adequate training of personnel to perform their job functions.
5.Assist in monitoring and assessment of training and job performance activities to factor improvements into training, to have operator training requirements addressed in site procedures, to provide feedback to site management regarding needed modifications or procedure changes, and to improve simulator fidelity.
6.Must successfully complete SRO Certification, Instructor certification, simulator instructor certification, and applicable portions of re-qualification training to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, and participate in developmental opportunities to continually improve job performance and skills.
7.Assist in preparation of requested materials and evaluation instruments for, and support as assigned, information for NRC license and renewal applications, and license notifications, to comply with NRC requirements under 10 CFR 55 and NUREG-1021.
8.Qualify as a Plant Assessment Team Leader/Member to support the site Radiological Emergency Plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certification/License)
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field of science (e.g., physics, chemistry); or applicable education, training & experience in the operations of a nuclear power plant.

Three to five years of nuclear experience associated with power production (e.g., responsible commercial power plant experience, propulsion plant watch officer, reactor operator, engineering officer of the watch, propulsion plant watch supervisor, or engineering watch supervisor) or completion of an RO/SRO license certification training program.
Previous certification as an instructor is desirable.

Maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted access and (if held) S-2 medical requirements for NRC licensure.  SPP-1.1 applicable?  Yes 0 No 0:  If yes, ensure at least the minimum requirements of SPP-1.1 are included in the minimum qualifications.
