Illinois locations: Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Marseilles, Moline, Morris, and Warrenville Pennsylvania locations: Delta, Kennett Square, Middletown, and Pottstown New Jersey location: Forked River Job Description Exelon Nuclear is looking for a Maintenance Valve Specialist (mid-level) or Senior Maintenance Valve Specialist for our Braidwood Nuclear Station in Braceville, IL (SW Chicago, IL). PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Functions as the site Valve /Valve Diagnostics testing, operation and maintenance technology Component Specialist. Responsible for evaluating complex plant valve degradation issues, coordinating component reliability improvements employing preventive, predictive and proactive techniques and component maintenance program optimization for valve components. Additional responsibilities include valve performance monitoring and valve reliability, as well as valve component troubleshooting. The Valve Component Specialist role in PM optimization and equipment performance improvement is critical to controlling site maintenance resources and preserving key Site equipment assets. 1. Perform Field walk down inspections and analyses for AOVs, MOVs, SOVs Check valves and PRVs. Provide consulting to Maintenance department in troubleshooting & repair 2.Provide expert analysis and support of plant valve condition assessment involving valve diagnostic testing and other equipment condition indicators. 3.Assume component ownership for plant AOVs, MOVs, SOVs Check valves and PRVs and perform periodic equipment condition assessment and update the component health status in the station CHIP report 4.Manage valve diagnostic testing programs application, analyses and reporting. 5. Participate in performing CAP and PEP program analyses, resolution development and implementation for AOVs, MOVs, SOVs Check valves and PRVs issues. 6. Provide budget and business plan input (short term and long term) for AOVs, MOVs, SOVs Check valves and PRVs and valve diagnostic technology requirements. 7. Participate in working group activities with Fleet peers. Sharing experiences and lessons learned and incorporating Fleet best practices POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: --4 year technical degree and a minimum of 8 years of utility or related industry experience OR --2-year technical degree with a minimum of ten years utility or related industry experience. (two years as FLS or equivalent naval training (Chief status) can substitute for 2 yr degree) --Must have 3 years of experience in motor and/or air operated valve testing and diagnostics --Must have good interdepartmental communication skills (verbal and written) --Knowledge of valve packing application & influence on valve performance --Strong personal computer (PC) skills Preferred: --Demonstrated knowledge of electrical valve operating devices (AC and DC) --Demonstrated knowledge of AOV support devices (positioners, I/P's, E/P's, boosters, etc.) POSITION SCOPE Responsible for component ownership which includes on going equipment condition assessment and performing continuous reliability improvement as well as management of associated O&M Costs for significant plant AOVs, MOVs, SOVs Check valves and PRVs. Maintaining communication and working relationships with the respective system engineer/manager to ensure appropriate operations and maintenance decisions are made is a primary responsibility. Managing the application of valve diagnostic testing technology and providing expert analysis will be expected.
