Responsible for identifying, investigating and assisting in the implemention of transmission acquisitions and strategic business partnerships. Negotiate key parameters and terms of commercial agreements and act in a leadership role on strategic recommendations and on improving business tactics.
Increase partner value through development and execution of the strategic plan and through new transmission development opportunities.
Principal Accountabilities: 1. Support, plan and organize the activities of the transmission strategy and business development function to ensure the goals and objectives of the ETA transmission business are met in a timely manner.
2. Identify opportunities through interpretation of technical studies, and work with transmission planning engineers to formulate business development plans.
3. Develop business plans, including financial performance, for transmission acquisitions and divestitures, new projects and strategic business partnerships.
4. Plan, organize and facilitate research and analysis of emerging issues in RTOs and their impact on ETA and its partners.
5. Advocate for ETA’s positions on relevant issues at stakeholder meetings, ISOs/RTOs, FERC, and state regulatory agencies.
6. Participate in industry forums to keep abreast of emerging issues related to the development of reliability standards and compliance programs.
7. Maintain corporate relationships beneficial to the ongoing success of ETA.
8. Coordinate the preparation and presentation of emerging issues and ETA positions in a clear, concise and impactful manner to ETA management and regulatory bodies.
9. Promote a cooperative working environment with an emphasis on safety and good utility practice.
10. Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior. Minimum Requirements **No restriction on location (this position could be remote for the right candidate)** Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, economics, business or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum seven years of electric utility or related power experience. Extensive knowledge of the transmission business is desired. Must be proficient in utilizing software such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. Must possess a high degree of communication skills.
Demonstrated project commercialization skills a plus. Significant travel required (up to 50%).
