Evaluates EE & Consumer Programs resource applications submitted by third-party contractors, coordinates contracts with selected contractors, provides support of resource decisions to regulatory agencies, coordinates with other planning and business unit functions on issues related to EE & Consumer Programs, provides general support for either operating company programs or system wide programs, as appropriate, interacts with external audiences, and collaborates with other utility personnel.
Assist with demand response activities including, but not limited to, the initiation of load curtailment events through the Customer Communication System (CCS) and other demand response software platforms. Assist others to analyze, manage, operate and update demand response software platforms as needed. Review complex customer electric service contracts and tariffs to ensure business rules are being correctly followed. Review and analyze various data, including historical information, for establishing threshold requirements for initiating load curtailment events.
Single point of contact within the central organization for assigned operating companies and/or assigned programs. Tasks include, but are not limited to, customer complaint resolution, reporting, quality control, and process improvement opportunities.
Develops detailed RFI / RFQ / RFP documents for submittal to prospective third party program implementation contractors.
Provides technical and financial evaluation of EE & Consumer Programs proposals. Thoroughly reviews and analyzes proposals submitted by third party program implementation contractors to ensure adherence to stated program guidelines, goals and objectives and makes recommendations to the EE & Consumer Programs Program Manager and operating company personnel as to the most cost effective and comprehensive program implementation and evaluation strategies. Clarifies any discrepancies with contractor proposals and/or needed clarification of overall program process, implementation procedures, costs, etc. Actively participate in contract negotiation activities.
Effectively work with other operating company and AEP staff, including AEP EE & Consumer Programs support staff, legal, operating company regulatory staff, integrated resource planning, regulatory pricing and analysis, and public policy, to ensure understanding of program processes and mutual agreement of overall strategies.
As directed by the EE & Consumer Programs Program Manager, work with operating company EE & Consumer Programs organizations to ensure all program data, including overall program costs, participant levels, installed measures, projected impacts and other required data / metrics are sufficiently captured in the AEP EE & Consumer Programs tracking system. Coordinates EE & Consumer Programs activities with other appropriate functions within AEP.
Contractor and/or employee training of program implementation procedures for programs implemented by the operating company and/or by third party providers.
Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all aspects of EE & Consumer Programs-related activities in all functional areas and the interrelationships among them.
Assist EE & Consumer Programs Program Manager to ensure all business processes and systems that will be affected by EE & Consumer Programs implementation are identified, and that the responsible AEP organizational units are notified in a timely manner.
Provides support of M&V activities and assists in program implementation. Ensure understanding of M&V requirements and processes to capture necessary data. Operating company and AEP EE & Consumer Programs support staff will work together to develop M&V strategies to minimize overheads associated and allow the effective evaluation of program impacts.
Initiates and maintains successful interpersonal working relationships with state-level regulators and regulatory agency staff. Attend necessary meetings with regulatory bodies to present program proposals, provide progress updates, present final reports, and address questions, concerns, or any suggested process improvement opportunities.
Advocates AEP public policy issues related to energy efficiency program design, cost recovery, and implementation strategy.
Coordinators at the operating company level will take the lead role for operating company specific programs with general support provided by the AEP EE & Consumer Programs support staff. Coordinators at the central organization in Columbus will take the lead role for system-wide programs with general support provided by the operating company EE & Consumer Programs staff.
Coordinators at the operating company and at the AEP EE & Consumer Programs support staff will work together to ensure successful programs are implemented to help achieve the Company's overall EE & Consumer Programs / Energy Efficiency goals and objectives.

Bachelors degree in relevant field plus fifteen years relevant energy-related experience. Technical degree preferred.

Focused on needs of internal customers.
Maintains broad and current knowledge of AEPs business and environment, national energy issues, and able to share that knowledge with others.
Minimum Requirements (for Senior):
Bachelors degree in relevant field plus ten years relevant energy-related experience. Technical degree preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
Able to effectively prioritize workload. Demonstrates high math, science and engineering competencies.
Takes initiative for improvement in work processes and results.
Focused on needs of internal and external customers.
Maintains broad and current knowledge of AEP business and environment, national energy issues, and able to share that knowledge with others.
Minimum Requirements (for Coordinator I):
Bachelors degree in relevant field plus six years relevant energy-related experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
Able to effectively prioritize workload. Demonstrates high math, science and engineering competencies.

Focused on needs of internal and external customers.
