Perform business analysis and system support of the operations and enhancement projects for AEP’s Customer Operations computer application systems. Experience in Process Analysis and Process Improvement is preferred.
The primary focus of this Functional System Analyst is to provide functional support of the Customer Choice systems, EDI and functions of MACSS, AEP’s Customer Information System. Knowledge of Customer Choice and EDI is required. MACSS knowledge is a plus.
This Functional System Analyst will be assigned the duties of providing business justification, requirements definition, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of the existing and emerging bill presentment and correspondence, billing calculation and revenue systems used at AEP. Duties will include: Building strong business relationships with our central and operating company regulatory representatives
Working with the Functional System Analysts (FSAs) to make sure IT Work Requests and Business Cases are completed and submitted in a timely manner to Business System Analysts (BSAs)
Including BSAs in the IT Work Request development process to define as early as possible what involvement will be needed from IT and to help facilitate the development of the High Level Estimates (HLEs) in parallel with the IT Work Request
Working with BSAs to obtain HLEs in a timely manner and complete appropriate approval routing of proposals
Representing Business Cases at the various Utility Governance Meetings
Managing Customer Choice projects
Supporting retail providers and internal provider support groups
Ensuring the quality of requirements, obtain clarification when needed from BU. Partner with FSAs/BSAs to ensure leadership is provided to facilitate the gathering of requirements and ensure BU stakeholders are represented
The candidate will use their knowledge of Customer Operations business processes in working with IT, Regulatory, organizations using these supported systems, and other stakeholders to ensure Business Unit satisfaction with system functionality, related business processes, system support, and product enhancements.
Principal Accountabilities: Lead or arrange process improvement projects as changes to the existing CIS system make process review and changes necessary.
Learn and follow AEP’s internal IT system development and support processes for delivering and tracking system enhancements and maintenance activities.
Work to resolve outstanding system issues by applying knowledge of application functionality and associated business processes. Interact effectively with Business Unit and IT personnel to provide input to change requests and to ensure the completeness of enhancement requirements and process considerations.

Support the Company’s Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in Business or IT minimum of six years of related work experience for the FSA II, additional work experience will apply to the FSA I and SR. FSA.
Significant experience in EDI and Customer Choice is optimal.
Understanding of Information Technology processes around Project Approval and the Software Development Life Cycle preferred.
Organizational, time management and communication skills are mandatory.
Competency in PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes is required.
Advanced knowledge of Power point, Excel, Project and other analytical tools is preferred.
Competency in AEP-utilized software, including AEPCH, Choice Portal and MACSS is preferred.
