The Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer will be responsible for engineering related to generators, transformers, relays, switchgear, DCS, PLC and NERC requirements. Project and outage planning is also part of this role. We are looking for your electrical and controls engineering knowledge and experience to support this effort.

Therefore we seek the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Solid knowledge of engineering principles and requirements including construction, thermodynamic, electrical environmental, mechanical and other specialties Industry standards for environmental regulations Specific knowledge of Schweithzer Engineering relays, Powell switchgear, Allen Bradley PLC and Rosemount Delta V (DCS)Equipment inspection, troubleshooting and engineering assessment Evaluating, monitoring, directing and managing outside contractors, consultants and vendors Engineering project management, including economic evaluation, schedule and time milestones Preparing scopes of work, contracts and specificationsPerformance testing and equipment evaluation Computers, and all engineering related computer programs and equipmentMaterials and work management processes and improvement Performance analysis: by unit & major equipment Critical thinking, problem solving and analysisUsing engineering test equipment, hand tools and other devises Complex problem solving Communicating with all levels within the organization as well as with the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Education: People in this occupation will have a completed bachelor's degree in engineering in a relevant discipline. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
Experience: Most people in this occupation would have seven or more years of professional level engineering experience. Engineering experience in electrical controls in an electric power generation facility preferred. Valid Driver’s License is required.
