Job Description:
AREVA is seeking a Production Line Operator for our AREVA Solar location in Las Vegas, CA. Production Line Operators manage the process of tending to manual or automated equipment in a production process operation. They perform functions as described by organizational instructions, operating the specified equipment or following production procedures as instructed.
Production workers also perform assigned tasks and functions in accordance with established safety procedures. They understand and review the product or service throughout the production process to ensure final product quality meets the organization's standards and to ensure a production line continues to progress efficiently and timely.
Responsibilities and duties include:
  • Operate production line machinery, manual and automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot production line machinery.
  • Perform equipment change-overs.
  • Safe performance of activities and general safety awareness of plant operations.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts) to maintain raw material supply for the production line.
  • Complete daily production logs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production line machinery. Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Other duties as assigned.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Experience operating production line machinery, both manual and automated equipment
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computer controllers.
  • Experience working in a safe environment and adhering to safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
  • Use of prescribed PPE (hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, other as required), including respirator as required.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing.
  • Self motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in operating material handling equipment (fork lifts, boom lifts, overhead crane, etc.).
  • Ability to work potential second shift schedule.
  • Experience in Solar manufacturing of mirrors
