Job Description
PSEG Power: FTR Energy Trader Position

Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) is a publicly traded, diversified energy company with annual revenues of more than $11 billion. It has two major subsidiaries, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), an electric and gas delivery business, and PSEG Power, a generation business. Its headquarters is located in the downtown business district of Newark, which is about 10 miles west of New York City.

PSEG Power: The FTR Energy Trader is an expert in the Trading of physical and financial transmission rights and other congestion hedging instruments for the PSEG portfolio of transactions.

Responsibilities include:
• Perform analysis and provide advice on the impact of transmission developments and outages.
• Provide analysis of the commercial impact of various generation or transmission developments or outages.
• Support day-to-day regional trading activities as required in any of the organized markets (PJM, NY-ISO, ISO-NE).
• Explain congestion-related events on transmission grid and forecast transmission congestion in advance including price impacts both day ahead and real time.
• Perform quantitative FTR analysis for monthly, seasonal and annual regional market auctions in order to build and optimize the FTR portfolio of productive source/sink paths, including the development of FTR path valuations and bid strategies.
• Utilize OASIS tool to analyze and contract transmission.

REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in business, math or engineering
• 3-5 years trading experience or directly-applicable equivalent experience.
• Experience in a physical or commodity trading environment
• In depth understanding of electric power system operations and
• power portfolio management (including demand, generation and congestion management tools).
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team player and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Results oriented, creative and innovative.

Desired:
• Experience with PSSE, Dayzer or other loadflow tools
