Performs work of intermediate skill in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of all electrical equipment and buildings. Duties are: Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, power saws, and other tools Required in the performance of electrical work of intermediate skill such as simple turning, facing and drilling not requiring tolerances less than + .005". Assemble, disassemble, repair, align, and adjust all types of electrical equipment and associated mechanical components which operate at a nominal voltage of 480 volts or less, a nominal pressure of 500 psig. or less, a nominal temperature of 600 degrees F or less, or where adjustments required are not less than + .005". Balance components of equipment in the shop within the limitations of Duty 2. Assemble and repair tubing, piping, valves and fittings, not subjected to high temperature or high pressure. Analyze, check, test and repair lighting, signal, and simple control circuits and associated equipment. Perform metal spray work where gun is in fixed position; braze or silver solder in flat position on work of intermediate sizes. Paint equipment, buildings and structures. Operate shop cranes. Must learn the use and purpose of the Company's tagging rules. Essential Qualifications: Must have two years prior electrical experience or equivalent. Must understand the care and use of mechanic's tools, pneumatic tools, simple tackle, rigging and other equipment used in this work. Must have a practical working knowledge of the basic principles of electricity and of the purpose and operation of all electrical shop equipment. Must be able to read simple working drawings and to make simple sketches. Must be proficient in the application of approved methods of artificial respiration. Applicants must be able to qualify for Nuclear Site access. | |
