We are seeking a Director, Market Policy with PJM power market experience to direct the activities and interests of ER&T and PSEG Power (Power) in matters related to energy market design, operation and energy policy programs in federal and state regulatory arenas in the PJM region for the purpose of advancing Power’s commercial interests. Responsibilities: • Create new, and modify existing, market rules that are advantageous to Power by improving the marketability and the profitability of Power’s assets and the portfolio. • Seek to influence outcomes that are consistent with Power’s business objectives, and that create beneficial commercial opportunities for the trading and marketing functions. • Facilitate the necessary engagement of ER&T personnel in various activities, proceedings and communications. • Communicate all regulatory information, including pertinent changes to market rules, to ER&T, Power, and Enterprise regulatory personnel on a continuous basis, and provide formal presentations when necessary and upon request. • Coordinate with appropriate Enterprise personnel on the development of all regulatory filings that deal with markets or support the initiatives of ER&T and PSEG Power. • Coordinate policy and tactics with ER&T regulatory colleagues from the other regions to ensure that regulatory and policy issues are advocated consistently. • Manage ER&T’s interests in state regulatory proceedings. • Pursue coalitions of like-minded entities to foster our positions. • Act as a liaison to the Power Providers of PJM (P3) and similar associations to ensure that ER&T and Power’s positions are vetted within, and properly reflected by, the trade association. • Play a key role in the evaluation and advancement of opportunities to grow our generation interests in the region by fully supporting the activities of Power’s development group. Required: • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of five years in a regulatory advocacy role or equivalent direct regulatory experience. • In depth knowledge of federal, regional and state energy regulatory policy and a comprehensive understanding of the PJM market rules. • Solid understanding of generation, operating and trading environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to travel regularly | |
