Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide technical leadership for monitoring, trending, and optimizing system performance and reliability, management of assigned engineering programmatic activities, proactive identification and resolution of plant/system issues, and technical assistance to the Operations and Maintenance departments. Implement the FPG Conduct of Engineering by being the process owner responsible for predicting and improving asset performance. Facilitate root cause analysis and solution development/selection to support unit operation within capabilities and maintaining unit capable of achieving design and customer requirements. Translate and integrate environmental/health/safety regulations into plant processes to support a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Provide programs, procedures, and processes that ensure engineering employee safety.

2.Translate and provide line of sight from TVA goals through FPG goals to plant goals to engineering goals.

3.Assess performance of processes against current and future targets.

4.Execute according to Conduct of Engineering and applicable portions of Conduct of Maintenance and Conduct of Operations.

5.Monitor performance of Conduct of Engineering.

6.Develop action plans to achieve alignment and close performance gaps.

7.Adjust action plans and revise processes as needed for continuous improvement.

8.Provide oversight and guidance for the development of newly selected employees and all management/supervisory employees in assigned area.

9.Promote an atmosphere of strong teamwork that creates an environment of continued improvement of desired employee behaviors utilizing STAR 7 values.

10.Administer the configuration management program of the plant.

11.Provide oversight of environmental programmatic processes and environmental compliance reporting for the asset.

ELIGIBILITY FACTORS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school and minimum of six years of engineering experience, or Bachelors degree in scientific or technical field with 8 years experience in power generation maintenance, operation, or engineering with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.

Demonstrated ability to supervise personnel, manage budgets, control projects and schedules.

License as a professional engineer is desirable.
