Responsible to source, recruit and certify a qualified and diverse applicant pool for Xcel Energy businesses by effectively marketing Xcel Energy as an employer of choice and developing and implementing recruitment strategies and tactics which meet or exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for managing the entire candidate experience from point of job opening through application, prescreening, selection, and offer management. You will interact directly with hiring managers, HR Partners and candidates, and will be responsible for helping to drive change across the organizations you support. Essential Responsibilities - Source and recruit a diverse pool of applicants for Xcel Energy positions using methods including, but not limited to, print and electronic advertising, career fairs, networking, cold calling, college and university programs, community agencies, workforce centers, professional associations, employee referral programs, and search firms to build talent pipelines.
- Develop and implement targeted recruitment plans for openings which have unique requirements or are underutilized, and/or consist of multiple openings for the same position, clearly defining the tactics for sourcing, service and performance criteria, and timeline, and partnering with other team members to ensure a seamless flow of service to the customer.
- Accountable for full life-cycle recruiting for each individual posting as assigned. Including consulting with the hiring leader on the specific requirements of the position, the duration and verbiage of the job posting, recruiting tactics, and coordinating with other individuals in HR as necessary to conduct assessment tests, provide an appropriate offer, and administer the recruitment/selection process. Accountable for delivering candidates and commitments per the timeline established with the hiring leader.
- Work with Recruiter II, III or Talent Acquisition Consultants staff to develop best practices and foster idea generation while researching and developing new recruiting techniques / resources and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of business unit and enterprise wide recruiting strategies and plans, as well as assist in coordinating college level intern programs, and other duties as assigned.
- Utilize behavioral interviews and validated assessment tools as needed to screen and identify highly qualified candidates and present to the hiring manager for consideration. Consult with hiring manager in making the final candidate selection.
- Create and maintain open communication and partnerships with internal customers to understand staffing needs while providing a exceptional level of service to hiring leaders and candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Track and analyze results of recruiting activities and develop reports. Reports to include but not limited to, measuring productivity, cost and operational effectiveness. As indicated make process change recommendations.
Required - BS/BA degree in HR or Business Administration or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
- 5 years direct sourcing / recruiting experience
- Experience related to hiring for nuclear power plants, or a very closely related industry
- Must have hands-on experience with applicant tracking software
- Must have experience managing process and driving change
- Experience developing and implementing recruitment plans and strategies
- Diversity recruiting experience
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, PeopleSoft (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated knowledge of EEO and Affirmative Action
- 20-30% business travel and a valid driver's license
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Regular, reliable attendance and an ability to deal with high stress and change are essential functions of this position
