Job Description
Manager, Engineering Technical Services
As the Manager, Engineering Technical Services, you will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of the mechanical engineering, electrical/instrumentation engineering and mechanical design functional areas. As a member of the management team you will be responsible for conducting conceptual and feasibility studies pertaining to existing facilities expansion and new projects and will manage capital projects including project planning, scheduling, cost control and estimation, procurement and contract management. You will be responsible for mentoring a multi-disciplinary team - fostering growth, personal and professional development and process improvements.
Reporting to the General Manager, Engineering and R&D, you will also:
· Design, develop and validate mechanical engineering work, and implement this engineering work to support plant design.
· Manage capital projects including planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating, procurement, and contract management.
· Act as technical lead in interfacing with consulting firms for contracted engineering work.
· Prepare specifications, request for proposals and reports with the assistance of the technical leads.
· Provide and organize the support to projects managers in regard to engineering and design.
· Develop and keep up to date AREVA engineering specifications, design systems in conformance with applicable codes and standards.
· Ensure AREVA design requirements are enforced both internally and externally when design is performed by consulting firms.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate Engineer with the ability to be registered as a professional engineer in Saskatchewan
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in mechanical engineering & mechanical systems
  • Solid experience in maintenance, project management & construction
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals with experience in training and development
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of codes, mechanical and electrical engineering standards with experience in mining and milling applications preferred
  • Ability to supervise external consultants, contractors and other technical staff
Additional attributes that could lead to your selection in this opportunity:
  • Experience with structural engineering discipline
  • Experience in maintenance activities management (routine, preventative, reliability, equipment selection)
