Job Summary Performs multi-discipline engineering work to optimize performance of plant equipment, apparatus, and facilities at all TVA fossil plants. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and investigation of plant systems, processes, and equipment. Initiates improvements to optimize achievement of plant, fleet, and/or fossil system business plan objectives. Ensures that performance gaps and other problems at a particular location are investigated at other locations having similar equipment and systems. Ensures fleet or fossil systemwide replication of solutions and standardization as appropriate. Performs studies to evaluate the effects of modifications, deterioration , deletions, and additions to major systems and equipment. Assists production units in resolution of equipment and system problems as requested. May serve as project engineer for assigned projects of moderate scope or parts of major projects. As assigned, duties include leading the project team, establishing and accomplishing valid requirements, monitoring all phases of project performance, approving project changes within approved limits, and conducting lessons learned reviews at project completion. May possess and use specialized knowledge and expertise in one or more areas of a discipline or plant systems. Supervision Received Independently performs assignments with instructions as to general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems. Supervision may be provided by a higher level engineer or by the first-line manager. Processes Leadership electrical engineering Fossil plant systems "FMEA / EMEA Project Management Communication and "Weibull, etc. Construction Processes Interpersonal Skills Minimum Qualifications (Consistent with Classification Standard) Education and Experience/Certificates, Licenses, and Registration This position is for a senior generator engineer. Responsibilities include: long range planning, modifications recommendations, repair procedure development, engineering and evaluation of design changes on generators and their associated auxiliaries, and supporting Fossil plants in the resolution of equipment and systems problems. Full competence as a System Engineer as demonstrated by several years' experience at the Engineer Level as a System Engineer or Discipline Engineer. Must have demonstrated proficiency in engineering as evidenced by completion of Engineering Graduate Progression Plan or equivalent post engineering graduate education and experience.
