Job Description
Our Energy Supply Technical Training department has an opening for a Technical Instructor in Denver, CO.
The Instructor will provide training in technical and/or safety fields, including topics for energy delivery. Utilize the ADDIE process (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) to develop and maintain training materials per the Training Process Procedures (TPP). Design instruments and perform statistical analysis to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate effectiveness. Position may require extended periods of time at the customer site.
This position will provide Technical Training to apprentice and journeymen Power Plant operators. Experience with Ovation control systems and training others using a simulator is preferred. Familiarity with power plant system operations is strongly preferred. Previous experience in instructing employees in Power Plant operations, both in the classroom and in the field is desired.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement ADDIE process to deliver training.
  • Provide support to training process unique to electrical training including customer contacts to represent all C&FO Safety and Technical Training services.
  • Perform safety and technical training process improvement consulting.
  • Meet continuing technical, professional and instructional requirements by adhering to a self-development plan.
  • Coordinate special events as identified and requested by management.
  • Fully utilize the Safety and Technical Training business processes (scorecard, marketing strategies, manufacturing-analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation) project management, mapping, product pricing and improvement of all processes.
  • Consult with customer to identify business needs and objectives. Provide customer contact for all Xcel Energy C&FO Safety and Technical Training services, products and programs in alignment with other business unit functions.
  • Design effective instruments and perform statistical analysis to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate overall effectiveness, cost benefit and ultimate bottom line impact of the training/consulting product or service provided.\

Associates or Bachelors degree in Safety, Education, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge (Examples include, but are not limited to, 5 Years Journeyman experience with an Associates or Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline OR 5 Years Journeyman experience with 2 years safety program experience or Advanced Safety Certificate through National Safety Council, etc.).
Recognized safety certification (CUSA, CSP, etc) preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years safety related experience.

Technical Trainer:
3 to 5 years practical experience (Journeyman preferred)
