We are looking for a talented Substation Design Engineer to join the Xcel Energy team in Denver, Colorado! In this challenging role, you will be responsible to provide engineering for the design and construction of electrical power substations at voltages up to 500kV. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects including installation of large transmission and distribution substations, installations with high MVA and fault current characteristics, and equipment such as large power transformers, SVCs, and series capacitor banks. The Substation Design Engineering department includes a staff of approximately 20 engineers with years of combined substation engineering experience and recognized experts in areas of substation design, power equipment, and control and protective relaying. The successful candidates will be placed within our engineering hierarchy (Engineer I, Engineer II) at a level commensurate with skills and experience.
