Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
As a senior project manager, the incumbent would simultaneously manage two or more major, complex, multimillion $ TVA internal or external projects, being performed for other federal agencies, that would require extensive knowledge in engineering, safety, design, construction, cost estimating/budgeting, Primavera scheduling, coordinating with internal/external customers, Supply Chain Management, and environmental compliance. Serves as department expert and interfaces with representatives from customer business units, up to VP level, to form partnerships to strengthen business relationships.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-Responsible for leading/defining /directing  the execution of the scope of work, and providing technical, environmental, and safety expert direction/oversight to multidisciplinary project teams of engineers, project managers, technicians, health and safety, construction (T&L), logistics specialists, Supply Chain Management, environmental personnel and subject matter expert contractors regarding all aspects of project(s) including the scope development, project management, interacting with customer's engineers/senior management,  project execution, extensive project reporting, identifying scope changes and preparing RFI/DCN documents and project closeout. Incumbent may simultaneously lead multiple, complex projects at different project locations.
-Provides positive business leadership that ensures communication mechanisms and project management practices that support an environment where coaching, teamwork, innovation, cooperation, positive employee morale, diversity, and creativity can flourish and where employees are given an opportunity and are strongly encouraged to develop to their full potential.
-Directly interfaces with management representatives in FGD&C, FPG, NPG, PSO, FM, RO, E&T, Dam Safety and others in fulfilling EOS responsibility toward meeting E&T's broader objectives.
-Ensures that activities are properly coordinated, internally and externally, and that they are sufficiently integrated with related TVA activities to efficiently and cost-effectively accomplish organization objectives.
-Ensures that the workplace is safe and healthy and that is free of hazardous situations and sound environmental practices are embraced.
-Ensures a diverse work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
-Work assignments will be performed in travel status at work location inside/outside the valley for extended periods of time.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY FACTORS:
-BS degree in engineering or equivalent education or equivalent experience. Advanced engineering degree is desirable.  
-At least 8 years experience in developing/managing complex engineering/construction projects designed to evaluate or remediate problems associated with the environment or power generation for internal/external projects.
-Must have the ability to direct other engineers/technical personnel in writing proposals/scopes of work and cost estimates, and reporting results, both orally and in writing, and regularly interact with senior management up to the vice president level.  
-Must have demonstrated ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve complex problems in the functioning and interacting of teams.
- Must have demonstrated competencies in leadership, communication, planning, organizing, facilitating, and coaching.  
-PE license and Project Management Certification is desirable.
-Financial Information Associate Certification is required.
-HAZWOPER certified as required by 29 CFR 1910.20 is desirable.
-Should have the ability to work well and lead others including experience with T&L personnel.
-Must have ability to effectively promote leadership, team building, and motivate, communicate, and interact effectively with team members and customers.
