Position will have overall responsibility for PSEG Fossil on several generator owner/operator related NERC standards including but limited to those regarding facilities design, connection and maintenance (FAC-002), coordination of plans for new facilities (FAC-008), Facility Ratings Methodology (FAC-009), Establish and Communicate Facility Ratings. Therefore candidate must have strong experience in the power industry, specifically generation station and switchyard layout, design, maintenance and ratings. Position will also support the Modeling, Data and Analysis System NERC standards (MOD-010, 012, 024 and 025). Therefore candidate must have experience in electrical power system / generation operations and equipment dynamic / steady state system modeling. Specifically generators, excitation systems and governor systems. Position will provide electrical engineering support on any other standards as required on existing and future standards. It is desirable that the candidate possess some experience in electrical power generation protection systems design and maintenance. Responsibilities will include responding to NERC and Regional Reliability Organization (RFC & NPCC) requests for reviewing standard drafts/revisions, data submittals, interpretations, RSAW’s, self-certifications, audits and other required activities. Position will be the expert of the standards, track their compliance with the PSEG Fossil generation stations, track their compliance with various projects, maintain the required back-up documentation, review/revise work-practices/procedures to insure compliance. Position will interface with subject-matter experts in PSEG Fossil regarding technical & procedural issues, interface with the PSEG centralized corporate NERC organization, interface with the personnel responsible for electrical system maintenance, interface with projects that have NERC implications, and interface with the associated transmission company (PSE&G, NIMO, UI, etc…) when required. Position shall perform the technical interpretation of NERC standards in order to determine their applicability to PSEG Fossil, determine necessary requirements in order for PSEG Fossil to meet compliance, identify revisions required to PSEG Fossil practices to meet compliance, and keep track of supporting documentation to prove compliance. Required: • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience. • Experience in generation station electrical facilities / switchyard system design and maintenance • Minimum 5-7 years experience in the power industry and electrical power system design • Working knowledge of electrical protection system maintenance and/or engineering • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Valid Drivers license • Leadership skills • Excel • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
