Information Solutions, a department within our PPL Services organization, is seeking four students to work full time (40 hours/week) during summer semester 2012, in Allentown, PA. Position Summary A Cooperative Associate is a temporarily employed full-time college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning, who is offered a work-study program designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study. This program often helps students determine career interests. Beyond the scope of the actual tasks performed, the student becomes familiar with a corporate environment and gains practical skills and knowledge to supplement their classroom experience. Primary Responsibilities There are four Business Systems Analyst positions available within IT Shared Solutions and ISD Business Services. Below are brief descriptions related to the responsibilities and projects for each position.

Business Systems Analyst – ISD Business Services

Position Entails:
- Providing analytical support for the development, implementation and maintenance of departmental processes, including business planning, budgeting, benchmarking, project management, and IT asset management.
- Analyzing data in support of corporate and departmental financial and operational requirements.
- Preparing various financial and operational reports.

Co-op may assist with projects such as:
- Developing reports for analysis of budgets, business processes performance indicators and departmental goal attainment.
- Supporting managers and ISD Business Services staff for budget development and expenditure analysis.
- Researching and summarizing current and historical financial and operational data.
- Supporting the development of business plans, annual budgets, and benchmarking reports.
- Managing data for project tracking as well as departmental and sectional budgets.
- Developing collaboration sites to enhance departmental operations.

Business Systems Analyst – Document Management Services

Position Entails:
- Supporting higher level staff in analysis and documentation of business line information management processes.
- Supporting the enterprise implementation of SharePoint 2010.
- Creating documentation that supports the enterprise information management program.

Business Systems Analyst – Enterprise Architecture

Position Entails:
- Providing support to the Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice.
- Providing support to the Application Architecture Council (AAC) by working with developers to improve procedures and support standardization.
- Performing project reviews to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Architecture principles that support process and technology standards.
- Support the development and enforcement of technical and design standards for IT projects.

Co-op will assist with projects such as:
- Assisting in the development of business and application solution roadmaps.
- Assisting in the development of a technology innovation process.
- Assisting in the development of an application architecture direction.
- Performing technology research to evaluate trends and directions that will influence Enterprise Architecture.
- Design, manage, and maintain the Enterprise Architecture and Application Architecture Council SharePoint sites.

Business Systems Analyst – Financial IT Services

Position Entails:
- Serving as an IT business analyst in the organization that supports PPL’s Treasury and Finance departments from an information technology perspective.
- Potential experiences include support of existing Financial/Treasury application software and assignments contributing to the build of new Financial/Treasury application software.

Co-op will assist with projects such as:
- Data mining and analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, and software testing (creating and executing test cases/test scripts to verify the application meets the business requirements).
- Working closely with the Treasury business users to ensure the applications the team supports and/or builds meet business requirements. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications - Enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
- Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate or masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Library Science, Computuer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Enrolled on a full-time basis (12 semester hours). Students may not continue as a Co-operative Associate once they have graduated.
- Have an acceptable overall grade point average, generally not lower than a 3.2.
- Eligible to work in accordance with Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) regulations.
- Able to provide an official student transcript and other required information.
- 18 years of age or older. Preferred Qualifications There are four Business Systems Analyst positions available within IT Shared Solutions and ISD Business Services. Below are the preferred qualifications for each position.

Business Systems Analyst – ISD Business Services

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Business, Accounting, Finance or a related baccalaureate or masters degree program.
- Information Technology/Management Information Technology experience.
- Knowledge of applications and programming languages such as Excel, SharePoint, VBA, SQL, Oracle, MicroStrategy, and other data analysis and business intelligence tools.

Business Systems Analyst – Document Management Services

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a degree in Library Science.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products as well as SharePoint.

Business Systems Analyst – Enterprise Architecture

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Knowledge of computing architectures, Microsoft Office (including Visio and MS Project).
- Good organizational skills and a willingness to learn.
- Able to work in a team environment.

Business Systems Analyst – Financial IT Services

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Finance or Information Systems with a business concentration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
- Able to work in a team environment.
