Job Description
Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert leadership and understanding in the analytical, technical, computer system, financial, communication, or business process support for the Information Services Department, or for one or more major business applications. May act as a liaison between application development and business units to provide analytical support and consulting on complex projects to ensure system and business requirements are clearly documented and understood during the design and development phases of the project. Supports the analysis and solution of the most complex business and financial analysis related problems during application development and normal operations. May participate in strategic planning for a PPL Business unit, particularly in the implementation of IT solutions to solve business problems. Serves as a technical resource for other Business Systems Analysts, including coaching and mentoring in their technical skills. Primary Responsibilities 1. Provides expert knowledge and leadership regarding PPL's business applications and supporting tools. Responds to customer and business analyst questions on the use of technology tools, hardware and software. Provides input to and may also support PPL's Knowledge Management systems and databases.

2. Leads and consults in the diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of the full range of business tool and software problems that may occur. Maintains business support ownership and accountability for meeting the required service levels for the applications being supported.

3. Working with project management teams, performs a full range of project management activities including development of project plans, cost/benefit analysis, work estimating, project oversight/ leadership, project methodology and progress reporting.

4. Builds partnerships with PPL business customers to gain a clear understanding of their business needs. Collaborates with vendors, consultants, business, and ISD personnel to achieve solutions to identified business needs and problems. Accurately translates business requirements into system functionality.

5. Creates clear and compelling business cases.

6. Assists the Supervisor or Lead Business Systems Analyst with planning, directing, and reviewing the day-to-day work of other team members. Also assists with training ISD and/or business customer staff regarding technical and business issues.

7. From time to time, leads or participates on special projects or teams to resolve business issues and implement appropriate solutions.

8. May function as a non-supervisory technical group lead directing and guiding the work of one or more business analysts below the senior level.

9. May develop or guide the development of customer focused communications to facilitate the use and understanding of ISD processes, services, and applications. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. BS/BA in a business area, engineering, computer science.
2. 6-10 years related work experience, or Master's Degree with 4-8 years related work experience. Preferred Qualifications 1. Masters degree in a business area, engineering, computer science, or finance, or MBA.
2. Professional Certification in a technical or business area.
3. Strong knowledge of corporate information systems and business processes.
4. Strong proficiency in MS Office tools.
5. Ability to present ideas in a concise and focused manner.
