Global Manufacturing:
Global Manufacturing is part of the Delivery Group within AREVA Solar. This is an exciting, agile, fast paced operation challenged with delivering large, high volume components to our Global projects.
This position will work closely with all departments within AREVA Solar to establish processes, system & controls to provide confidence in our delivered product.
Job Description:
AREVA Solar is seeking a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Supervisor for our Global Manufacturing Operations in Mountain View, CA; however, there will be a great deal of travel in the beginning and on-going to our Manufacturing facility in Las Vegas Nevada. As Global Operations are expanded, travel will be extensive to our Australia and India projects.
Responsibilities and duties include:
  • Develop & implement Quality Control Plans & Procedures for Global Manufacturing Operations.
  • Develop & implement Inspection & Test Plans for manufacturing; Develop, review and approve of process and work control procedures for manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Global Manufacturing Operations to ensure acceptable Product is delivered to clients.
  • Set-up & ensure efficient operation of Document Control within Manufacturing. Review quality assurance specifications, test reports and other documentation to ensure that safety and quality requirements are met.
  • Monitor & report on Manufacturing Quality performance.
  • Ensure timely processing of all Quality issues requiring resolution.
  • Review & report on Quality Documents from suppliers.
  • Conduct reviews of processes & procedures to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Provide coaching & mentoring to other Manufacturing staff to ensure they understand Quality requirements.
  • Assist in driving a Quality & Continuous Improvement culture within Manufacturing.
  • Provision of training to other Quality Control staff.
  • Implement program designed to reduce cost of Quality & increase client satisfaction.
  • Prepare a Global audit matrix, then undertake or participate in Manufacturing Operations audits.
  • Monitor & manage the timely reporting & closeout of corrective actions.
  • Must work as a team but also possess a strong sense of personal achievement in getting the job done.
  • Assist in the co-ordination of Global Manufacturing Quality Control activities & personnel.
  • May conduct assessments of vendor/contractor quality assurance/quality control programs to ensure compliance.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • BS Degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a Quality Assurance/Quality Control position, performing duties listed above.
  • Must have min of 5 years experience developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures
  • Must have experience monitoring manufacturing quality performance for a high precision product
  • Must have experience Interpreting technical/engineering drawings.
  • ISO9000 Quality System development experience.
  • ISO9000 implementation/accreditation experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing Quality Control Training into manufacturing
  • Experience leading or supervising other Quality Assurance/Quality Control personnel
  • Prior experience performing quality audits in manufacturing operation
  • Must have experience with both automation and manual assembly
  • Must have well developed leadership qualities, strong verbal and written english skills and experience dealing with customers and suppliers.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Trade qualifications preferred
  • Auditor training would be an advantage.
  • Strong Manufacturing experience, preferably in a metals fabrication environment.
  • Experience in Global Quality Control environment.
  • Able to effectively work across borders & cultures.
  • Experience with mobile manufacturing preferred
  • Prefer candidate with Lean Six Sigma experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with coatings/polishing operations preferred
  • Experience in Solar or other energy related industry preferred
  • Prefer experience with manufacturing related to boilers and pressure vessels
  • Prefer experience with ASME Codes, Sections 1 (Power Boilers), and Sections 8 (Pressure Vessels), and other associated specification and standards like ASME Sections 5, 9 and 11
TRAVEL
Initially, to support manufacturing operations, travel may be as much as (50%) domestic and international travel, with extended periods in one of the manufacturing locations as needed. Position will support remote Manufacturing Facility QC personnel. Interface required with Las Vegas , Australian & Indian Project Quality Control employees.
