This position conducts engineering analysis and develops recommendations to maintain and improve generating plant safety, environmental compliance, efficiency, reliability, and cost performance. Major Job Duties/Responsibilities: Evaluate plant performance, operating practices and procedures and modify as appropriate. Manage daily, weekly, and monthly figures and reporting. Implement the strategic preventative and predictive maintenance program for the facility. Perform root cause and cost / benefit analysis on performance deficiencies. Identify resources and act as a sponsor between generation projects and station associates in the design and application of new technology. Develop equipment / services bid specifications, and evaluate purchase recommendations. Provide technical support and direction to contractors and in-house labor supervisors. Perform engineering studies in all areas of plant improvement, specifying materials, equipment, calibration and test requirements. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG standards for business controls and meet management’s expectations for effective internal business controls. Experience with thermodynamics and a familiarity with computer modeling. REQUIREMENTS: BS Degree in Engineering and/or 5-10 years experience in utility or manufacturing plant environment. Combined cycle experience with understanding of GE gas turbine operations and design functions. Demonstrated knowledge and capabilities of 7FA Gas Turbine engines. Experience in plant performance, design, control or operation. DESIRED: PE License. Familiarity with Field Engineering knowledge; Experience with Turbine Control and Mark VI control system performance and system design.
