Job Description
Lead the development of all SEC quarterly and annual financial reports for PSEG, including all reporting for the separate registrants, PSEG, PSE&G, Power and Holdings. Ensure the complete, accurate and timely submission of all external financial reporting information to PSEG. Interpret GAAP guidelines including FASB, EITF and SEC pronouncements and determine their effect on financial reporting matters in coordination with research associates. Manage all aspects of SEC periodic financial reporting activities. Provide consultation while being involved in the research and resolution of technical accounting and reporting issues, including the annual goodwill impairment tests at PSEG. Liaise with external auditors, external and internal counsel and other internal reporting constituents on SEC reporting matters. Be an active leader in the PSEG controllership community, and overall finance community. Work with Internal Audit and PSEG Controller to ensure effective disclosure controls and effective internal controls over financial reporting, and serves as Disclosure Committee monitor. Required: Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business with a CPA required.
Minimum 8 to 10 years relevant experience such as SEC reporting, accounting, accounting research, mergers and acquisitions, etc. Basic Qualifications: Demonstrated responsibility for the analysis, interpretation and implementation of accounting/regulatory pronouncements. Accounting controls acumen. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and results. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to tailor communication of financial/business information (verbal and written) to targeted audience. Proven ability to apply the interpretation of difficult accounting pronouncements. Creative thinking to lead in the implementation of improvements to the workflow processes. Desired: Utility and/or public accounting experience. Project management experience. MBA in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Solid interpersonal, coaching, teaming and mentoring skills.
