AREVA Solar:
AREVA offers turnkey solutions for concentrated solar (CSP) technologies. AREVA's experience in thermal technology and fluid mechanics is well adapted to the concentrated solar power market. Today, the EPC services needed to establish a ready-to-operate CSP plant are fully integrated in AREVA's technology offer.
AREVA Solar is a new product line of AREVA Renewables and is currently pursuing opportunities in the Indian market. AREVA Solar's product is a solar steam generator (boiler) that is scalable in 2.5 MWe (7.5 MWt) increments. Primary applications for the steam generators are:
  • Steam boosters (producing steam to augment existing power plants)
  • Steam for industrial applications
  • Power generation (stand-alone) larger 50MWe - preferably 100 MWe. We offer equipment sales (OEM model) or turn-key facilities through local or regional developers or directly to utilities, IPPs or industrial customers.
Job description :
AREVA Solar is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Reliance Project in India.
Responsibilities and duties include:
  • Provides overall responsibility for the coordination of all matters related to design and engineering on the project
  • Manages the discipline engineers and solar boiler product engineers on the project
  • Coordinates the work of sub-contract engineering firms
  • Coordinates the collection and communication of technical information between/within ASI, the project team and the Client
  • Main point of contact with the Client for all matters related to design
  • Maintains the Project engineering schedule and follow up on deliverables
  • Conducts engineering reviews and monitors technical progress to assure quality and adherence to requirements of contract documents following company processes
  • Ensures accuracy of technical content and compliance with applicable codes
  • Coordinates with the product engineering representative to ensure that product engineering deliverables are delivered in due time including all matter related to commissioning, test and achievement of guaranteed performances
  • Works with Documentation Control person to ensure that all technical documentation status and revision is properly managed
  • Ensure, promote and monitor that all projects comply with customer and AREVA health, safety and environmental requirements in accordance with applicable law and with corporate quality requirements.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • BS degree or higher in the physical sciences or engineering. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 7 yrs experience in engineering management, preferably in power or process industries
  • Thorough familiarity with project execution process methodologies.
  • Track record of successful project completion.
  • Proven ability to create and present clear documentation on technical topics for technical or non-technical audiences.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and also thrive in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Experience performing EPC or EPCM of a power block.
  • Experience with once through to superheat boilers.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Multi-lingual (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, German) a plus.
