Job description :
AREVA Solar is seeking a Contract Manager for India.
Responsibilities and duties include:
  • Monitoring implementation of and compliance with a major contract for design and construction of a solar power plant in Rajasthan, India (main contract) under the direction of the head of legal for the Solar Energy Business Unit (BU) and with a dotted line reporting relationship with the Project Manager.
  • Negotiating small and medium subcontracts with equipment and materials vendors, technical consultants and constructors, within approved contracting guidelines and with the support of BU lawyers resident in California, USA and Paris, France.
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheet lists of contract deliverables under the head contract as well as subcontracts, to ensure that both AREVA and its counterpart meet their commitments.
  • Documenting all commitments kept or missed by the parties and handling claims by and against AREVA.
  • Maintaining in good order all contract documentation including correspondence, change orders, minutes of meeting, requests for information and clarification, and responses thereto, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager in negotiations to implement the main contract.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • BS degree
  • Several years experience in Indian contract administration or implementation in the construction, engineering or similar industry
  • Good verbal and written communications skills in the English language
  • Energetic, self starting, and with a good attention to detail; strong commitment to qualify work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, powerpoint and excel; ability to use related computer systems and software
  • Experience creating documents and spreadsheets, and writing and editing.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Prefer experience in energy industry power plant construction.
TRAVEL
Sporadic (20%) domestic travel. Most of the Contract Manager's work will take place at the job site, with some trips to Mumbai.
