Job Description
The Staff Engineer – Hope Creek Programs will be the Site Maintenance Rule Coordinator (SMRC) who is certified as the SMRC program manager; develops and maintains program health reports, program notebooks, program procedures, and manuals. The SMRC is responsible for maintaining overall implementation and oversight of the Maintenance Rule Program for the Hope Creek Stations. Tasks include maintaining necessary Maintenance Rule Program documentation, ensures collection of performance data for availability, reliability, and condition monitoring during operation and shutdown. Assists and mentor System Managers in developing and revising performance criteria, (a)(1) goals, and corrective actions. Prepares the Periodic (a)(3) Assessment of Maintenance Effectiveness. Schedules and chairs Maintenance Rule Expert Panel meetings, issues Expert Panel meeting minutes and issues tracking operations for open action items from Expert Panel meetings. In addition, SMRC evaluates functional failures to determine the impact of the functional failures on Plant Level Performance Criteria. The successful candidate will perform the duties of a Hope Creek Programs Engineer and become knowledgeable on the implementation of 10CFR50.65, "Requirements for Monitoring the Effectiveness of Maintenance at Nuclear Power Plants", utilizing the guidance provided in NUMARC/NEI 93-01 and NRC Regulatory Guides 1.160 and 1.182.

Additional duties include submitting Equipment Performance Information Exchange (EPIX) failure reports to INPO, managing the Surveillance Frequency Control Program and coordinating the stations accidental outage insurance program through our insurer Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited (NEIL).

The Hope Creek Programs engineer also:
• Provides support to the site on complex and strategic program and process issues.
• Provides strategy and support for special programmatic inspections by regulators and industry.
• Attends and represent PSEG Nuclear at industry conferences, training and meetings.
• Benchmarks industry best and incorporates learnings into programs/processes.
• Leads diverse teams in resolving station issues.
• Supports Emergency Preparedness Plan.

REQUIRED:
BS Degree in Engineering, 3 years experience in nuclear industry. Good oral/communication for interfacing with the various plant departments and stakeholders such as INPO, NRC and NEIL on program issues. Good written communication skills for development of program procedures, technical standards and technical evaluations. Possess excellent knowledge of Microsoft Applications. Must meet Nuclear's requirements for unescorted site access.

DESIRED: Experience with 10CFR50.65, "Requirements for Monitoring the Effectiveness of Maintenance at Nuclear Power Plants", utilizing the guidance provided in NUMARC/NEI 93-01 and NRC Regulatory Guides 1.160 and 1.182.
