Senior Analyst for the Project Management Office This is a "Project" function designed to support the project work currently in DP&C for a duration of 3 to 5 years in duration (defined employment start and termination date). Which carries certain Benefit Limitations (i.e., no separation benefits). Director Level approval and waiver will be required to bid on other PSEG opportunities and incumbent will not be able to bid on any new opportunities until the last 12 months of the defined employment assignment. NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL MOVE TO HADLEY ROAD, SOUTH PLAINFIELD 2nd & 3rd Qtr. The associate in this position will provide technical/analytical and functional support in the area of project management, project controls, and construction management processes for the Delivery Projects & Construction (DP&C) Organization. The associate in this position will provide consultative technical/analytical expertise and functional support in the area of Project & Construction Management process & performance and operational benchmarking. The individual will identify gaps in performance and analyze data to identify performance gaps/performance targets for DP&C work practices, policies, procedures, and processes. The associate in this position will possess skills and expertise in the following areas at a project and portfolio level: Project Scope coordination, analysis, and maintenance; Project Execution Plan preparation, coordination, & monitoring, Project Estimate preparation and coordination, Work package review; Initial Project Schedule development; Milestone Schedule analysis; Contractor coordination and management; Project management assistance; Integrated cost and scheduling; Total Project & Annual Budget Planning development; Financial analysis; Cost accounting and forecasting; Variance analysis; Performance reporting; Project change management; Risk & Contingency planning and root cause analysis. Establish benchmark measures for DP&C, analyze benchmark data, and identify opportunities for improvement within DP&C. Collect and summarize metrics, operational data and prepare scorecards and reports. Interface w/process owners, Project Managers, Project Control Engineers, and Project Schedulers to obtain feedback on metrics and develop and maintain process documentation. Develop and implement standard cost, schedule and risk programs, processes and practices to ensure Design and Construction projects are performed in accordance with approved budgets and schedules. Develop, implement, and maintain project management system tools to facilitate enhanced oversight and review of project and portfolio cost and schedule data. These tools include but are not limited to SAP, Oracle, Access, Primavera P6, and Crystal Reports. Develop, coordinate and maintain financial, schedule, estimating, work/resource management, procurement and document management methods and databases. Manage SAP financial master data and the interfaces between SAP, Primavera P6 and other databases and query tools in order to improve the overall PMIS platform for DP&C. Provide audit capability and the quality of data to assure proper use of the system across DP&C. Develop, coordinate and maintain the overall status reporting templates and executive dashboards for the financial aspects and schedules associated with Design and Construction Projects. Required: • BS in Engineering, Construction, or Business discipline. • 5 to 7 years of Business Planning and Budgeting experience. • 5 to 7 years experience with Integrated Data Management Tools such as Crystal Reports, MS Excel, MS Access, Business Objects, Xcelsius, Oracle, ODBC, etc. • 3 to 5 years experience with Financial Analysis and Managerial Accounting with SAP (FICO, Project Systems, Materials Management, Work Management, DWMS). • 3 to 5 years experience with Benchmarking and Performance Metric Reporting. • Must have a valid drivers’ license. • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices Desired: • Knowledge of Electric and/or Gas field operations. • Knowledge of Utility Accounting practices and principles. • Knowledge of Project Controls principles and practices (project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, closeout) field or home office. • Knowledge of Cost Engineering principles and practices (project estimating, forecasting, cost controls and variance reporting). • Experience with Enterprise Portfolio Scheduling Software tools. • Experience with Project Management Scheduling concepts (Activity Definition and Sequencing, Resource Estimating, Activity Duration Estimating, CPM and Baseline analysis, Earned Value, etc.) • Experience with Project Management Document management software tool applications experience (ECM, File Net, Sharepoint, etc.) • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic. • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP); Experience in a project, construction, Utility, or industrial business environment • Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley; Personnel management (supervisory) skills; Communications; Business and technical writing experience. • Candidates must take personal accountability for actions and results; strive for personal and departmental continuous improvement; focus on measurement of results and demonstrate PSEG Values & Behaviors. • Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls | |
