|
Overview: Maintenance Services Program Manager is responsible for development and project management of the Proactive Maintenance and Work Management Processes. The position is also responsible for development of associated systems and tools. This position leads implementation of these processes through the Fleet-Wide Steering Committee and its sub-committees. Also responsible for contributing to margin enhancement and maintenance cost reductions via these processes. Develops and manages group budget. Responsibilities: Objectives – Plant Maintenance Work Management - Implement the GenOn work management processes including key elements of planning, scheduling, backlog management and operations / maintenance collaboration
- Work with the Planning Services group to provide routine maintenance wrench-time training, measurement and improvement initiative targeting 50% routine maintenance wrench-time performance. Follow-up with plants to assess shortfalls from this performance target.
- Implement backlog management practices that result in a financial and operations risk adjusted prioritization of work and long term forecast of backlog liability.
- Lead implementation of a national station planning and resource utilization standard that results in safe work performance, environmental excellence, productivity gains and maintenance cost reductions. Insures training for new or new in position station planners to achieve the planning standard.
- Responsible for developing and implementing key maintenance management reporting and measurement tools that provide transparency and direction around value levers that drive plant business outcomes.
Objectives – Proactive Plant Maintenance - Leads national proactive maintenance program including key elements of preventative maintenance, condition based maintenance and predictive maintenance resulting in achieving fleet equipment performance and maintenance spend targets.
- Develop and implement a national predictive maintenance program including standardization on predictive technologies and development of required hard skills within stations. Insures employees and contractors employed for PdM data collection are qualified and trained for safe and accurate data collection and data entry into GenOn’s database. Pursues strategies to enhance efficiency in this process.
- Lead ongoing optimization of fleet-wide preventative maintenance program ensuring focus on critical equipment in order to achieve equipment performance and spend objectives. Pattern GenOn standard after the EPRI PM guide.
- Collaborate with Tech Services in implementing the GenOn condition assessment program including definition of critical equipment and integration of equipment condition assessments into the work management and budgeting processes.
- Responsible for implementation and integration of the fleet-wide Reliability Engineer / RPA program with station maintenance and reliability teams.
- Develop a condition-based 10-year maintenance planning practice that supports the annual budget process.
- On-going development and implementation of the Proactive Maintenance Data Gateway system in order to achieve real time equipment risk assessment capability and transparency to station by station equipment risk
- Drives fleet to a standard of performing Root Cause Analyses of equipment failure modes, whether or not the failure was predicted through the collection and assessment of PdM data.
Additional Objectives
- Responsible for development and deployment of Proactive Maintenance and Work Management training programs. Responsible for measuring technical and behavioral changes related to training offerings.
- Manage the department budget and work management and proactive maintenance process team including establishing program goals and employee development objectives.
- Develop and drive implementation of appropriate interfaces between backlog management, planning / scheduling, outage planning, condition assessment processes, supply chain, and budget decision making.
- Provide leadership and Workforce Management with a view of accomplishing business objectives, enhancing employee skills and creating opportunities for career progression.
- Leads/Participates in comprehensive plant maintenance assessments against best practice standards and provides station leadership with report detailing degree of alignment or opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a member of the Fleet-wide Steering Committee and provides leadership regarding business outcomes targeted by these responsibilities.
Qualifications: - Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
- CMRP or CPMM certification or willingness to pursue certification is required.
- Strong business acumen is required – MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 10 years proven experience in project execution and leadership of large multifunctional teams that have successfully achieved business objectives.
- At least 10 years of maintenance process implementation experience encompassing multiple generation assets with proven business outcomes.
- At least 10 years of power industry related experience.
- Proven leadership, communication, critical thinking, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to perform as a team leader in a cross-functional team environment and achieve consensus decisions.
- Proven ability to develop and lead personnel.
Working Conditions - Primarily office with work required in power generation facilities.
- Extensive travel required.
- Work non-standard hours as required
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
- Required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals.
