Note: Position will report directly to Shashikant Patel. Lead and manage the project engineering efforts for assigned multiple electrical switching and substation projects (4 kV to 500 kV) from conceptual stages to successful completion in terms of safety, reliability, functional performance and adherence to scope, schedule and budget. Responsibility includes, but not limited to the following: Interface with other technical disciplines and project management & construction teams through all phases of assigned projects. Develop scoping documents, develop schedules and prepare estimates. Assist in the development of cost-effective and reliable station layout and one-line control drawings, protective relay, SCADA and monitoring schemes. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning stages. Resolve complex technical problems and provide solutions. Calculate equipment ratings and provide input in developing specifications for equipment purchase. Perform insulation coordination studies and engineering calculations for substation ground grids, station battery sizing, lightning protection, voltage drop, short circuit analysis, SL & P transformer sizing etc. Review and approve licensing & permit packages, and construction drawings to assure all engineering standards, construction standards and safety codes are met. Review and provide comments and approve control and layout constructions drawings. Candidate shall provide technical support for strategic management initiatives and help to set direction for the organization in regards to technical issues. Required: • B.S in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree or technical experience • Minimum of ten (10) years of electrical utility substation engineering experience and knowledge of electrical substation and switching station planning, design, construction and station equipment. • Prior experience as lead project engineer on a large-scale substation projects. • Candidate must possess a working knowledge of utility best practices, IEEE, ASME, NESC and NEMA Standards. • Applicant must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be results-oriented. • Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills are essential. • On call 24/7 hours to handle emergency replacement work and assist during system emergency situations. • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity • Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices • Must have a valid drivers license Desired: • Advanced degree or technical training. • P.E. license. • Advanced knowledge and experience with utility regulations, standards codes and engineering principals. | |
