Commodity Settlement Analyst III - CAISO Job In Houston Texas

Summary

Responsible for the timely and accurate creation of gross margin reports and the booking of revenues/expenses for financial statements in the West. Power settlements with California ISO and third parties.

Responsibilities

• Compile gross margin reports
• Interact with Commercial accounting for variance analysis
• Account reconciliations
• Analyze settlement data with California ISO and Third Party Contracts
• Perform month end close and book revenues/expenses to SAP
• Compile generation data reports for internal and external reporting purposes
• Interact with ISOs for settlement purposes
• Government and regulatory reporting requirements
• Accounting/Settlement functions for:
• California ISO transactions
• Tolling/Power Purchase agreements
• Research ISO discrepancies and file disputes
• Interact with internal/external auditors
• Projects as assigned

Education:

BA/BS degree in Accounting or Business Related Field

Experience:

2 years experience in the energy industry. California ISO Power experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in Excel.
• Reconciliation ability is a must.
• Works well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in the face of distractions and changing priorities.
• Ability to quickly conceptualize and assimilate data to make decisions and take appropriate action.
• Ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to work with operations and commercial personnel.
• Detail Oriented
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours as necessary, especially during critical issue resolution and to achieve project milestones
