Xcel Energy's Substation Maintenance Engineering group is looking to hire an intern. In this internship, you will work with the Engineering staff to support substation maintenance projects - various activities which may include drawing research, design review, database management, performance of basic engineering calculations, drawing preparation, field review, inspection and commission testing. You will work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks spanning all aspects of power-based operations which may include contract and project management, making process improvement recommendations, supporting requests from operations and maintenance. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and interpersonal skills. Expected travel within the state of Minnesota is estimated at 20% of the work time. Ability to work 20 hours per week during school year preferred. Ability to work 40 hours per week during school breaks preferred. Must be enrolled in EE program and pursuing BSEE at a accredited college or university. All levels (Freshman, Sophmore, Jr, Sr) are encouraged to apply. Prefer that applicant be available for multiple years.
