AREVA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Pickering, Ontario Canada location. The qualified individual for this role will support the Engineering, Mechanical and Civil Design group. Primary responsibilities will include: - Modifications to nuclear power plant systems, structures and components.
- Must be familiar with OPG and/or Bruce Power design and ECC process and qualified per ASME Boiler & Pressure vessel Code Appendix XXIII to certify design reports and design drawings.
Additional Responsibilities May Include: - Preparation of design specifications, Load and Capacity Data Sheets, Engineering calculations.
- Prepare DCN packages and associated documents such as DBOMs and Change Paper drawings.
- Occasional visits to nuclear sites for walk downs and meetings, must be able to obtain security clearance.
- BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology plus 5-7 years of applicable engineering and 2 years nuclear experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related experience (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs).
- This type of experience is normally acquired by either working directly for the nuclear power plants, design agencies for nuclear power plants, or suppliers/contractors to nuclear power plants.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario or a province of Canada..
- Familiar with Nuclear Power ECC and Change Paper process.
- Security Clearance to work in nuclear power plants.
- Some Nuclear Class 2, 3 & 6 Piping and piping support design experience.
- Some knowledge in application of CAN-N285, N286 series.
- ASME Appendix XXIII qualified for design and design analysis relating to nuclear power plants systems and components.
