General responsibilities include: · Assist in the day to day operation of the AREVA Safety Program, under the general direction of the Safety Officer. · Participate in the Emergency Response Team, responding to emergencies such as: fire fighting, medical, confined space rescue, response to search and rescue situations, as well as, spill response. · Maintain specific routine inspections to ensure safety mechanical systems (i.e., fire loop, fire detection, ambulance, fire truck, extinguishers), are maintained in good working order. · Assist with recharging and maintaining fire extinguishers. · Assist with training in safety related courses (i.e., confined space entry, first aid, fire extinguishing). · Participate in the following: -Hazard identification -Workplace inspection · Promote H&S by providing information for safety huddles. · Assist with issuing safe work permits when required (i.e., confined space, hot work and excavation safe work permits). · Provide routine respirator maintenance and fit testing. · Additional duties as required Future duties may include safety officer coverage during vacation periodsCOMPANY DESCRIPTION AREVA Resources Canada, with its head office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is a world leading uranium exploration, mining and milling company. Qualifications for the position include: · Required a minimum of grade 12 education. · Must be physically fit. · Requires good verbal and written communication skills. · Poses effective computer skills. · Experience in fire suppression and fire suppression training would be considered an asset. Work Location & Schedule: McClean Lake 7 in / 7 out - 77 hours/week PICK-UP POINTS: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Camsel Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and Wollaston | |
