Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for the key functions of the administration of corporate and foundation grants throughout their life cycle. The position is also responsible for the execution and administration of corporate memberships, events and sponsorships.

The position coordinates the grant making process, including preparing and tracking correspondence, proposals, grant documents, invoices, contracts and payments. The position also maintains and manages a database, and understands the interactions with accounting and accounts payable for accurate recording of funds. Assures compliance with IRS and foundation-specific regulations for assigned grants, assures proper accounting honoring utility and philanthropic regulatory requirements, as well as governance and SOX. Creates grant files that meet legal, auditing and foundation requirements. Handles phone calls and correspondence as needed.

The position maintains a database to reflect transactions and actions. The position also manages the database and assists in implementing, troubleshooting and maintaining grants management software that follows foundation, contributions, sponsorships, events, and corporate memberships work processes. It also trains staff on grant procedures and processes.

The position requires great attention to detail and timeliness, strong organizational skills and an aptitude for creative problem solving and collaboration.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED,
• Associates degree or some college-level courses.
• 3 to 5 years work experience in a fast-paced professional environment.
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
• Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.

Required Competencies:

• Strong computer software knowledge or experience.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, set and meet schedules, and work effectively in a time-sensitive environment.
• Aptitude for creative problem-solving and collaboration.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prefer Bachelor of Science or Arts degree.
• Experience with grants management software such as Micro Edge Gifts. Experience with IRS database GuideStar system.
• Experience dealing with the nonprofit community, or regulatory environment for governance.
• Patriot Act, IRS regulations, or SOX.
• Demonstrated experience with philanthropy, especially with funders’ or with philanthropic trade associations.
• Experience with 501(c)(3) rules, and industry resources and organizations.
• Experience with Access, Access-based database, multiple administrator environment, or SAP.
