Maintenance Mechanic A - Conemaugh Job In New Florence Pennsylvania

This position will be responsible for activities related to the maintenance at a coal-fired 1700 MW plant. The position requires demonstrated mechanical ability. The incumbent will support maintenance of the plant including boiler, turbine, switchgear, cooling towers, and ash removal systems under general supervision. Support of the station’s storeroom operation may also be required. This position requires successful completion of the EEI POSS test for Power Plant Operators and successful completion of the Maintenance Mechanic –A entry level test.

• Ability to perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.
• Efficiently maintains plant equipment and completes required documentation of maintenance performed.
• Performs skilled mechanical repair work on plant equipment as assigned
• Communicate conditions of equipment to others
• Operate computers and printers
• Discern and respond to verbal and auditory signals from operating system
• Work under general supervision while carrying out duties
• Ability to use mechanical tools and operate forklifts, man-lifts, etc.

Education:

Two years post secondary education obtained from an accredited school in power plants, mechanical or electrical curriculum is required. Related military experience is acceptable. In lieu of education, three years industrial related experience is acceptable.

Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:

• Successful completion of the EEI POSS test for Power Plant Operators
• Successful completion of the Maintenance Mechanic –A entry level test.
• Able to use mechanical tooling to accomplish repairs of equipment.
• Understanding of basic electrical theory
• Understanding of basic cause and effect logic.
• Good problem solving skills
• Good computer skills
• Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
