We anticipate the need for one or more Advanced Step (3rd or 4th step) Station Electrician(s) to be located at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant. Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to the following: Install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain plant electrical and electronic equipment. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Vo-tech, trade school, or electrical military background desired (navy nuclear preferred). Must currently be a 3rd or 4th step, or above, up to (but not including) Journeyman. Required to enroll in and complete the approved apprentice training as agreed to by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee. Required to safely perform the duties of the classifications. Must acquire knowledge of electrical and industrial code. Must be able to intelligently communicate constructively with plant personnel both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to read and understand logic, schematic and circuit diagrams. Will be required to actively participate in training and retraining programs. Will be required to perform duties when necessary from scaffolding and catwalks in high and confined areas. Special Requirements: Must successfully pass the EEI Personnel Plant Personnel test or be grandfathered. Must meet screening requirements under NRC guidelines. Must pass annual medical evaluation, which allows wearing respiratory protection equipment. Must function under written plant maintenance procedures as appropriate and document maintenance actions as required by Plant Management. Assist in preparation, development of maintenance procedures. May be required to work off shift. May be required to accept temporary assignments at other locations, including nuclear plants, as prescribed by Plant Management. May be required to participate in the Emergency Response Organization Strong troubleshooting skills desired. | |
