Job Description
This position is in Technical Skills Training/Utility Operations Services organization and has the responsibility to assess/analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate technical training for Distribution LOB clients. Major duties include instruction, evaluation and performance testing of apprentice and incumbent employees to fulfill the duties of Relay Technician in accordance with job specifications, contract obligations and regulatory requirements. Also, provide support for other related apprentice programs (Operations, Substation Mechanic, etc.).

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have functioned as a Relay Technician/Chief Relay Technician with demonstrated knowledge of, and hands-on experience with protective relaying at the Generation, Transmission, Distribution Supply (Subtransmission), and Distribution areas of system protection.
• Ability to learn and apply training and development processes of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programs.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity
• Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices

Desired:

• Knowledge of / experience or the ability to learn evolving systems such as SCADA, evolving micro-processor based relay technology, etc.
• Possess good oral & written communication skills, be people oriented, and capable of making effective oral presentations.
• Supervisory and/or leadership related experience.
• Ability to cross-train, expand skill sets and competencies into multiple topics/disciplines and provide assistance in other instructional areas/activities.
