JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is covered by NERC CIP cyber security standards.  Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check.  Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.

The primary function of the incumbent is to plan and schedule maintenance activities for San Juan Generating Station including routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and scheduled and unscheduled outage tasks.  Will provide direct input into decisions that will affect the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of plant equipment.  The incumbent will also be responsible for the overall direction and supervision of non-union and contractor personnel in the completion of planning and maintenance tasks.  This position requires the incumbent to effectively manage the construction activities of all Maintenance and Engineering projects.  The incumbent will function as the Company representative for all construction work performed by outside contractors for San Juan Maintenance and Engineering projects as well as serve as the focal point for coordinating and notification of all construction activities with San Juan Station Management staff.  This position has a direct and significant impact on company profitability due to their impact on unit availability projects and outage recovery efforts.

Performs maintenance and outage planning and scheduling activities that include material requisitioning, manpower estimating, job standards, preventive and predictive maintenance, and equipment cost estimating. Performs these functions in a computerized maintenance management system

Direct and administer construction and outage contracts, including control and documentation of all change orders to ensure compliance with project scope, schedule and performance for the project

Responsible for scheduled outage main contractor bid package preparation and miscellaneous contractor ITA identification and preparation

Will define work scopes and manage contractor activities

Direct and/or supervise contractors, vendors, and Company personnel during outage and project related activities

Serve as a focal point for resolving questions/input from Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel

Assist with the preparation of Scheduled Outage, Project and departmental budgets

The incumbent interprets drawings, contract documents, contractor bid proposals, and Company policies and regulations

Maintains the integrity of the computerized maintenance management system by assisting in maintenance of system administration functions

Develop cost, schedule, performance criteria, and estimated manpower requirements to ensure proper cost management in area of responsibility

Oversees the scheduling of the preventive maintenance program, job standards, standard overhaul task packages and bill of materials

Assists with the preparation and implementation of contractor cost tracking for outage and project related tasks

Assists in the adherence to all guidelines pertaining to loss control and safety

Ensure development and maintenance of documentation required by upper management, insurance representatives, and auditors by maintaining records on all group activities and provide reports as necessary to group work

Maintain outage and/or maintenance historical records to facilitate efficient and comprehensive planning and scope development of future work

May perform lead planning responsibilities including supervision of subordinate planners and their associated staff to include performance appraisals, work assignment and discipline

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree or equivalent two-year college or technical school plus 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

SALARY RANGE

$57,842.00 - $96,403.00
